Basking...

As I write this, this heron has been perched on the tree at the bottom of our garden for about 15 minutes.  It must be a great vantage point!  It's a freezing cold morning but he's in the full sun there and can also keep his eye on the pool in the field at the bottom of the garden.  Heron Heaven!
