Migrant in Moscow

By Migrant

Grand Prince Vladimir is now a fact of life in Moscow.  He was unveiled on 4 November, Unity Day in Russia, which commemorates the day in 1612 when the Russians expelled the Polish occupiers from Moscow (if you didn't know that fact, don't worry as you're in good company;  a survey taken a few years back revealed that only 4% of Russians knew that anyway).  I blipped this as a work in progress on 19 October 2016.

I deliberately tried to create a sense of movement in this image.  Could Vladimir have ever imagined the swirl and bustle of our contemporary lives when he lived a thousand years ago.
