There was a tremendous lightning strike in Kirkwall at 0310 this morning which appears to have woken everyone in Orkney, apart from me. It put the police phone system and the BBC radio transmitter out of action.

I came south this morning, hoping to soak up some festive cheer and replenish my hot chocolate supplies. Popped out to blip before it got too dark and saw the heron flying above the water of Leith :)
