In The Occupied Territory

Golden Brown

What a day!
Last night my taxi meter malfunctioned, it was running fast; a £12.00 hire metered at £99.00.
It wasn't the first time this had happened. And I can usually fix it myself. This time I couldn't. So I got up early to make the 49+ mile journey to the agent. On the way over it started working, but I went over anyway. I decided that I better get s new meter as this one had seen better days.
When I tried to pay for it, their card reader machine didn't work.
Eventually though it did and I set off to get my car through it's bi-annual hackney inspection.
As it was booked in for 1300 hrs I had time to kill. After taking my car through a car wash, I took some photos, including these golden brown beech leaves.
On arriving at the council premises, sharp, I discovered I wasn't sharp, in fact I was half an hour late. So at a cost of £33.00 I had re-book for next week.

June phoned in the evening to inform me that 44 properties in the village are suffering a power cut. Hopefully be back in in the middle of the evening.
Not long after that, I got out my car and noticed that my taxi roof sign was not working. It may just be a fuse or it maybe something to go with them putting in the new meter.
Just as well I was late for the appointed time, or the car would have not passed due to the malfunctioning sign.

If this doesn't fit in with the Wild Wednesday theme, then nothing does.
