On the wall
We were in Newcastle this morning and are now in Durham for the night to go to a concert this evening. So in between we went to see Jac's Exhibition in Seaham. Well, it's not really her exhibition, as there is the work of quite a few other artists there as well, but anyone who follows Jac (8) will know she has been preparing for this for quite some time.
'St Mary's Church in Context' is a very impressive exhibition, well worth going to see. (It's at the Arts Block in Seaham and is on until 17 January) Here are two of Jac's pieces which will be very familiar to her followers, as we have seen 'work in progress' through Blip. The finished work is wonderful. The one on the left is 'Field Tray' and is a transposition of an 18th century map of the fields around the village of old Seaham onto a discarded printer's tray. 'Escarpment', on the right, is a collage created from sketches made on the coast. (I took the details from the equally impressive catalogue for the exhibition - hope they are correct!)
We both enjoyed the exhibition very much and it was great to see Jac again.
