Sunset song

Our last evening in Norrgard, near Nauvo in Finland, was spent admiring the sunset after I had manfully tried but failed to get the wood-fired sauna up to 80°c (as any self-respecting Finn would expect) and we had to settle for 71°c...

The sunsets have been spectacular all week and if anything Friday evening's was a bit less mind-blowing but we enjoyed it and then sat round an open log fire and I whipped up some pancake mix with the remaining eggs and milk and we cooked them on the open fire with hot banana and blackberry jam. Washing it all down with a glass of vodka surely added to the feeling that we have found paradise if not heaven.

But tomorrow is another day and we will head for Turku airport and south-west towards Belgium.
