Almost full super moon

Tuesday 15th Nov 2016 (1543)

I missed the super moon yesterday but when I came out of my evening meeting tonight the clouds around the moon looked great. I dashed home hoping the clouds wouldn't go and I've managed to catch some interesting effects in the ten minutes I had before the black clouds swallowed the moon completely.

I used two photos for this - one for the clouds and the other for the correct exposure for the moon. Other than that I haven't changed anything.

Today it was waning gibbous 97% illuminated and 364,947 km away. Yesterday it was 363,548km, the nearest it has been for decades. So, this is still a super moon, just not quite full. The last time it was this close was 1948. We have one more full super moon in December and then we will have to wait until 2034. (I know you probably know this blippers but it is for my journal record.) Will I still be blipping in 2034???
