Maxwell's House
This wasn't the planned blip for the day but the rain came down and I wimped out.
The Maxwell Centre has been a long time coming. The building work was already under way when my office moved out to West Cambridge but it finally completed about a year ago. I'm impressed that the window shades haven't faded in that time and are just as vibrant as when they went up — the local pigeons clearly aren't trying hard enough.
The Centre is a communal workspace for liaison and engagement, primarily between the academic and industrial communities but there has also been some work at bringing together STEM subjects and the creative arts - Kettle's Yard remains heavily involved and put on an astonishing exhibition to mark the opening.
