Day 4 in London - AIOTM (aiotm)
Up a bit later than expected and did as advised for a visit to the Columbia Road Flower Market, but in getting to this we also had to go through the Brick Lane market, which was chaos in itself.
Columbia Flower Market is on a road that you could conisder to be narrow, stalls on both sides of the road and a narrow passage for humans to pass through. God forbid you actually wanting to stop and purchase something as this was near impossible given the tight squeeze.
S nearly bought cacti, but bowed out at the thought of the logistics in getting it back home.
We returned to Tooting to meet with friends and have some lunch. Being a sunday it was roast dinner for all. It was superb as always.
After the big lunch there was a lull in proceedings as food comas started take hold. We didn't get moving till about 3pm as the sun started to fade in the sky. We started heading on up back to the city as there was comedy to be had.
Tonight's entertainment was to see Richard Herring and her resurgence of As It Occurs To Me, which was a podcast show from a few years ago. It's starting to come back to life as a video series, with the aid of £100,000 kickstarter and as part of this they are also doing a 30 minute podcast at the same time.
The podcast part I found to be a lot more fluid as it stuck to the old format of
* Write script
* Rehearse once
* perform, no stopping, no editing nada.
Whereas, the video portion didn't. There was cuts, edits, re-takes etc. Nice to see, but not what I was expecting.
The show we saw has also been published here...
