Between High and Low Brandelhow
A dull drizzly day with low cloud and mist which didn't really spoil today's circumnavigation of Derwentwater. Despite the conditions the autumn colours were still good, especially the beeches. Just imagine what it would have been like in full sunshine.
The wettest part of the day was reserved for lunchtime where we sat on a bench under the dripping trees. It felt like it was pouring with rain! Today's shot was taken at our lunch stop, a launch had just passed, giving the grey water some interest!
Saw quite a few people doing the same walk but was surprised to find out later that Trevorearthy, his wife and Chloe the dog also did the walk, either in front or following us. What a coincidence!
It was also quite a surprise to come across Lingholm, a cafe, shop and walled garden associated with Beatrix Potter towards the end of the walk. We didn't know this place existed but we made full use of the cafe part.
Spent the last hour of our car parking charge doing a bit of Christmas shopping browsing in Keswick and looking at new boots for Susan. Good to get back to the hotel, for more tea and a long relaxing bath.
