Penicuik Estate

We were orienteering in Penicuik Estate today and it was decidedly Baltic. This is the view of the current house from the steps of the ruin that was the original house that was destroyed by fire in 1899. We hadn’t been to the estate for orienteering for a while and I could see why. The estate is a great place for a walk but the vegetation is horrible and my course had no redeeming features. I saw Sparse Runner, towards the end of the course and I must have put him off as he was just about to make a costly error.
