Morning light over The Trossachs

Just when we thought we could relax over Park of Keir I get a call from the local paper wanting a statement from our group RAGE – Residents against Greenbelt Erosion- because Judy Murray has been in to see them along with her PR guy pleading her case.
 
This is what we are up against: a local celebrity riding on the coat-tails of her son, Andy Murray, seeking to influence the media and hence the Scottish Government into granting her permission to build a tennis centre , given her free by a local builder, on our Greenbelt on condition he gets permission for executive housing.
 
She claims she wants to offer a grassroots facility accessible for all children.
If this was the case then why not establish it close  to centres of urban population- not an isolated field on the top of a hill?
 
 
While we all fully applaud Andy Murray’s success, especially as tennis is a minority sport in Scotland, we simply reiterate what we have said all along: good idea, wrong location.
