Serenity

I prevailed upon OilMan to get me out of the house and take me to Cornerstone, a combination of restaurants, shops, tasting rooms and a large garden made up of many smaller gardens created by different designers. There were ingenious uses of eucalyptus branches to make walls and outdoor paths, interesting and creative uses of plants, including the agave of which we have many,  some nice trellises and even a very nice looking series of compost bins. I have included a picture of an installation called 'Clouds' (made of chicken wire and crystal baubles) in extras.

We wandered through several shops that all had random items displayed on tables...books, candles, hand made items from other countries, items made from other salvaged items. It was all pleasant to look at but I couldn't help wondering how many tables of cunning clocks made out of old tools, baskets made out of telephone wire, and olive wood bowls the average person could look at.

Lunch was delicious and only a little bit marred by a small child at the next table who fell off her chair not once but twice because she insisted upon standing on it instead of keeping her bottom on it. Undoubtedly she felt she was much too big to sit in the sturdy, well balanced child's chair which would have raised her to just the right height. It probably would have made lunch easier for her mother who either ate with one hand while the other one hovered around the small child, or gave up on eating altogether in order to console her when the chair dumped her.

I, of course, having raised three perfect children consider myself the foremost authority on such matters....

The bits and pieces of my mind seem to be attempting to come together and we have one more outing in the day...a trip to the top terrace to watch the 'supermoon' rise....
