Migrant in Moscow

The view at 5 o'clock (yes, five o'clock) this afternoon. No snowfall today but lots of it to clear.

That's Alexander Griboyedov's monument peeking out behind.  Playwright, poet, composer - and finally, diplomat - he was murdered in Tehran by a mob which stormed the Russian legation.  Apparently angered by his role in pushing through a treaty which ceded a chunk of Persia to the Russian Empire (and worked up other reasons too).  As ever in these regions, there are conspiracy theories to match the main version/s of events.
