The Shouds of the Somme is Somerset artist Rob Heard's representation of the lives lost on day one of the battle. It was first displayed in Exeter to mark the battle's 100th anniversary and is now outside Bristol Cathedral on College Green until the 18th November.
I went to pay my respects and participate in the two minute silence at 11:00. It was so poignant and very moving.
