Lake Side

Another tranquil place beside the lake and we have never visited it  before.  The Waiteti Stream is a spawning stream for trout from Lake Rotorua.  The road end stops and you can walk over a little bridge and down a few yards beside the stream to the lake edge.  The mouth of the stream can provide excellent fishing.  There is reserve land along this stretch of the lake allowing public access.  We saw dog walkers, a family having a picnic and two young lads crossing the bridge with their fishing rods.  It is also a good habitat for birds.  At the lake edge is long grass but the rest of the reserve is mowed.
