University Parks: Negotiations
Friendlier in large.
Back blip
The friendly (smaller) cygnet is still with its parents.
It can be seen here negotiating with a man over his family's picnic... It succeeded (in spite of the man's protestations), and he shared the picnic with the birds (mostly to lead the swans away from his slightly perturbed family).
I enjoyed watching all three swans flapping from the river (mother, then father, then cygnet), and then pottering about on the pond as the autumn colours reflected on the water's surface. They attracted a little crowd as they returned from the pond to the river; the cygnet then spotted this family's picnic, and started its negotiations...
My other swanny shots are on Flickr (right from here).
