Veterans Day
We had a very fine breakfast out with Becky before she went to work first thing then took a stroll in to Yale and wandered some familiar and less familiar streets. When we arrived at the Sterling Library, I felt it was poignant that officers from the military were putting out US flags to represent members of Yale who had fought in conflicts on the green just feet from chalked messages promoting peace and fellowship following the recent awful election result. I spoke with one very respectful young man about the Day before we finished reading the messages and moved on.
We returned to Claire's Corner Copia for cuppas and huge pieces of cake before visiting Old Yale with its fine buildings and Fall colours. Sadly the huge owl we spotted on our first visit here was nowhere to be seen. Next we walked across New Haven Green to view the three churches before heading back out through the Financial centre and Wooster Square park to Becky's new apartment. And now it's a quiet afternoon to come round!
