Refuge

The Mississippi Gulf Coast provided a healing balm for us today. The quiet sound of water lapping soft along the shore. Sandpipers and sanderlings feeding in the shallow water, perfectly attuned to the rhythm of the wavelets. Terns. And pelicans...drifting wide-winged overhead. Cirrus clouds, a sweep of white across a generous cerulean sky. Our tender broken hearts took refuge. Thank you dear blip friends for your thoughtful, heartfelt reflections, understanding, and support. There appears to be a global wave tilting in the direction of shutting down hearts and closing possibility...for inclusivity, for diversity, for economic balance. This community supports me, and I am resting before I return to do the work that must be done with others. Here is a link I found very helpful. It helped me to understand why my grief is so profound. http://johnpavlovitz.com/2016/11/09/heres-why-we-grieve-today/
