So much seaweed
The local weather station has reported a high of 19C today. It felt warm and humid.
Rained all morning and was still dull and grey when Maeve the Deerhound and I set off for our walk later than usual. Straight down the road towards the shore again. We met a lady with a rescue greyhound, but it didn't want to say hello. Nervous. Looks beautiful.
Tide almost right up to the small area of dunes at the back of the beach. Maeve and I must have had less than 6 feet of beach to walk along at some points. The waves were still pounding the rocks, and the edge of the water was feet deep in seaweed. Might get rather stinky if the weekend is warm and the seaweed gets left on the beach.
Three of the Fishermen were standing at the work area behind the creel rack when Maeve and I wandered off the beach and up to the huts. All looking out to sea and to where the boats were plunging up and down at their moorings. No one was heading out to sea!
Sheltered under a big tree behind the huts for ten minutes to let a shower blow over, then quickly took a few shots to try and show the difference from yesterday and the seaweed and sand in the heavy waves. Not pretty. The green rowing boat is the one that has the damage on the side shown in earlier blips (11th and 12th). You can just make out the damage near the bow :-)
We met a lovely Cocker Spaniel as we approached the last quarter mile before home. He lives just up the road and is a little character. He toddles along by himself with his head up high. He is not sure of Maeve though. He was hiding behind the lady who was walking with him when we stopped to say hello. It was very funny :-)
Later is has started to look convincingly brighter.
