Picture yourself in a boat on a river

Today is the day St Martin died so Tours is celebrating his life. There were flares on boats on the river and then lanterns were lit which floated into the sky. A very nice old lady started chatting to us and telling us a bit more about Tours while we were waiting for it all to begin as she wasn't sure what was going on.

Martin and I then followed a procession to the basilica where there was a market. Finally got to try Tours 'rillettes' which seems to pretty much be pulled pork. Was pretty tasty.

We then wandered home as it was raining but managed to stick our heads out the window to see the brief burst of fireworks. It was rather nice to be involved in.
