Ben Vrackie

The transition from autumn to winter. This Perthshire mountain forms a scenic backdrop to the Highland town of Pitlochry. Ben Vrackie translates as `speckled mountain` and comes from a time when white quartz rocks were scattered across its slopes. The other pictures are of the scenes today  around Pitlochry - the River Tummel,  Loch Faskally (part of the hydro works), and other autumnal/winter scenes.
