A horrible surprise

Even living amongst the buttercups at the edge of a pond is not plain sailing, as Jeremy Fisher discovered when he went fishing one day – instead of a smooth fat minnow, he landed little Jack Sharp, the stickleback, covered with spines!

And it was a horrible surprise when I woke at 4am this morning and thought I would ‘just check’!
 
I heard someone today say that they were going to apply for a work placement on Mars and was just wondering whether that was far enough away!
   
We didn’t get the snow in the end and we got through to Newcastle on the train again. Another trip into Fenwick’s Food Hall. Well, I had to see the Christmas windows didn’t I!
