postcard: Venice
poem: Joachim Ringelnatz (1929)- Stille Winterstraße
Another postcard bought in Venice and never sent. However, I bought 15, so failing to send 2 doesn't make me feel to shabby.
Today's poem went to a friend who lived in Italy for a while. She, too, has young children, so funny rhymes were in order. Ringelnatz has long been a favourite of mine as is snow, so this poem about a quiet street in winter fit the bill. It describes how mountains and fences and a raven flying past are so clear against the white of the snow. And maybe, the author ponders, there is a deer hiding in the bushes thinking: there goes a man.
NaPoWriMo - my version of it; sending a postcard-poem each day of November. Here is the how.
