Great Losses Under The Spotlight

Everyone else will talk about the election today. In my heart, the election is tragic, regardless of the outcome, but today has been a day of personal loss to my family on my mother's side and the anniversary of similar loss on my father's side. The fact that it is election day, and especially THIS election day, will burn the date and the memories permanently on my mind.

The day began with a beautiful light here. It was like a Summer day with temps in the 70's. Life on the coast of Oregon seemed exceptionally fine. Business as usual, as they say. But for some, nothing will ever be the same again.
