Ouch!

These are the feet of today's visitor who has just had painful operations on both of his big toes, but gamely hobbled with his wife to the Dower House for coffee. Since I had planned to blip him encased in the lovely blue bootees he was presented with at first, I was mildly disappointed that they were not on display. His Lordship came to blip rescue by producing these toe separating socks to provide the necessary focus on the offending toes- not quite so eye catching but better than what else was on offer.

The operations sounded very painful and he will be off his bicycle for some time, which to an enthusiastic cyclist is akin to a life sentence. Nevertheless he has plans afoot for his and wife's next cycling odyssey in Sri Lanka although we did try to sell them Orkney with dry weather. They have done Orkney in wet weather and it didn't leave them with positive memories.

It was good to see you Mike and Sally and to hear about all your exploits on two wheels.
