First outing

Not sure if I ever went out on the streets for Halloween. I do remember parties with apple dipping and wriggly things, and waiting behind the door to frighten other kids away, but not actually going out for this trick or treat business.

So this was a first for me as much as it was for the children, with their homemade costumes (thanks to Granny!). At the first house, I realised that none of us knew what to say in French, so the kids just said raaaaah and got given a big bag of sweets. Then someone told us that they were supposed to say "une friandise ou un sort?".

Too many sweets in the end.
