TractorFactoryPhotos: As I Live and Breathe
Well, after two shots in a row of the Noomad, it only seemed right to finish on a trio - for this weekend I'm likely dismantling and returning the bike to two wheels, while I lend the Noomad kit to a courier I know who plans to test it rather more... sternly...
Nice morning with some of the CCE bike mob, with special guest of TractorFactoryPhotos (astride the Noomad up there) who was less subtle with the turns than most who had a shot (including Instography) and really showed off the tipping wheels to the fore.
Commuting on the contraption has been interesting. The rough surface corner understeer is a definite issue; and filtering is rendered somewhat trickier. But overall I've enjoyed playing about with it, and it's an interesting load option. It'll certainly stay in the garage for possible future use. But now the Cotic Soul it has been attached to can go through its transformation - I've not mountain biked properly in years, and to be honest I think the appeal has basically been lost a bit (and the cross bike can pretty much do the off-roading I do anyway). But the Soul is still a wonderful bike - I was working out this morning that I must have had it about 8 years now, first bike I ever built, the 73rd ever produced by Cotic. The paint is worn after serving as the snowy commuter the two winters before last, and I may get it resprayed, but it all still works, so I'm getting a rigid carbon fork to replace the heavy suspended version on it just now, some flat pedals so I don't need my cycle shoes to ride it, and slick tyres front and rear. It's gonna be a fun bike; a shop bike; a popping to the park with the camera bike; an everything within 5 miles bike; a trailer-pulling bike (now I have the bits to build a trailer). Looking forward to riding this new bike...
