Lifeboat Day

Today was the St Ives lifeboat day and for me as the stations Treasurer this involves many many hours in the crew room counting change.

I had to leave a little early this year as I was on Stage in Evita but when I left we had already banked over £5000 and there are quite a few buckets left to count tomorrow morning.

In the afternoon we had a visit from the Search and Rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose (or HMS Seahawk to its friends) and we had half an hour of winching exercises. If you go large and look closely you will see a lifeboat crewman in the water about to be "rescued" by the helicopters winchman.

In the picture you can see, the St Ives allweather lifeboat "The Princess Royal" the St Ives Inshore Lifeboat "The Colin Bramley Parker" and another inshore lifeboat that we have on loan this week for capsize exercises.
