Cold enough for ice

A chilly morning ..... i expected some frost but not frozen ponds.  Even the gulls were having difficulty as their feet slid across the ice.  

This little feather wasn't trapped in the ice it was simply resting as the sun gently warmed the ice and a very thin layer of water gradually appeared on the surface.

It's to be very cold again tomorrow and there is even a possibility of snow later on in the afternoon.
