Made it!

My physiotherapist reckoned it was time to test my ankle out on a hillwalk, so today was the day!

My friend and I, plus her two dogs Jack and Tess who have featured in previous blips, had a lovely day on Little Wyvis, the "little brother" of Ben Wyvis, the munro which dominates the skyline when you look north from Inverness.

Little Wyvis is a corbett (for the uninitiated that's a Scottish hill between 2,500 and 3,000 feet)) about 35 miles west of Inverness on the road to Ullapool.

It was overcast when we set out and the rain jackets had to go on at one point but by the time we got to the summit the sun was shining. There were magnificent views all around, although it was a bit hazy to get really good photos of the distant hills.

I was delighted that my ankle coped very well, not just with the good paths, but also with tramping through bogs and heather! Even managed a river crossing thanks to some appropriately placed stones!

Realised as I huffed and puffed my way up the hill at a rather slow pace that my fitness levels have suffered over the last few months so there's a lot of work to be done still!
