Clearing
Walking home helps clear the head, especially when the sun is shining and there is enough of a breeze to rustle the leaves and send clouds scudding across a summer sky.
I have been contemplating whether I should go back to cycling to and from work, but the weather has decided for me. Yesterday it was pouring with rain and I remembered that 20 minutes under an umbrella is much less unpleasant than 10 minutes being soaked from all directions on a bike. And today it was a lovely summer's evening so I was able to dawdle and stop to look and think. Walking wins whatever the weather.
(And of course, for those of us who work in Universities, 'clearing' had another meaning today. As I took this blip, the UCAS computers would have been updating with a whole new raft of student decision, or perhaps just crashing.)
