Happy birthday Sam

Today was Sam's 7th birthday. We have a birthday tradition of having birthday cake for breakfast so the day started well!
After opening about half of his pile of presents, Sam and Will had to go to school. My day, while they were busy at school, consisted of a quick tidy up around the house, a Drs appointment which was 50 mins late by the time I was seen and then a decent walk for Arthur as I suspected that due to the fireworks we would be restricted tomorrow. That ate up pretty much all of the time before I was back at their school to watch their weekly award assembly. Sam read out a story which he had written and that he was very proud of. It was 8 pages long and he has spent lots of time and effort illustrating each page too. The school are going to keep a copy in their library. The topic? Minecraft!
At home he finished opening his presents and we rounded of the day with Chinese noodles from the restaurant in the next village. Sam's favourite food is currently these noodles, so it was a big hit all round. :-)
It really does not seem like 7 years ago that this little man came into the world.
