Date Night
.... well, afternoon.
It's been a good day. She slept well. She got up and occupied herself dancing a little while as I came round. She had a huge breakfast. She then spent an hour on FaceTime to Thailand. She played her piano and both clarinets to B, showed her a million things, did gymnastics, had a view of Bangkok from 28 floors high... she was sooo bouncy and excited!
The hour with B was wonderful and katie is pleased she's talking to her again next weekend, though mad that she's not seeing her in person yet! It did mean we were a bit behind in getting ready for church so ran in with not long to go. Katie's always enjoyed church but she's extras happy now that her ballet friend has started coming routinely. We had a children's work meeting after the service. She sat eating snacks and listened to most of what was going on- she contributed several times too, when her opinion/ideas were asked.
From there in, it was date night with my baby. We went to a craft fair, packed a tub full of pick and mix, bought take out lunch, went to the movies and snuggled through the film (Trolls) then headed home happy girls. A quick spot of homework broke the treats but was relieved by lots of dancing afterwards. Some clarinet (rehearsals for two school performances this week) then a long bath for her before I braided her hair as she watched a film. It was rather lovely to have a Sunday almost totally off. Hasn't happened in a lot of weeks.
I do love this girl. And she went to bed without coughing her guts up tonight!!
