Roman Invasion

Scotland was inhabited for thousands of years before the Romans arrived. However, it is only during the Greco-Roman period that Scotland is recorded in writing. Today in Dunkeld there was a parade which included a division of the 6th legion - as well as some imaginatively decorated wheelbarrows! Of course, no Scottish festival is complete without pipers who appeared on the historical scene must later than the Romans. It was a great conclusion to the Perthshire Amber Festival in this normally sleepy, peaceful place.
