Preparations

The newly reopened East Wing of the National Gallery of Art now has a rooftop garden.  If you get yourself into the very far northeast corner and hang over a bit, you can get a shot of the Capitol dome, as I have done here. The dome is looking quite shiny and clean after months of work to repair it.  If you look closely, lower down you will see that construction of the grandstands for Inauguration Day has begun.  I guess it is reassuring to know that someone is able to see beyond next Tuesday and know that it will be business as usual come Jan. 20.
