Wall to wall rugby
Archie and JR went up the hill to meet Bailey and her mum - the dogs haven't seen each other for ages, so they had good fun on a glorious, if rather cold and windy day.
I was almost organised by the time they came back - haven't been up and dressed this early for quite some time, but I'm not good at hurrying - I have to keep sitting down and resting. We had a cuppa and a catch up.
Imagine my delight when I realised that there was rugby on this afternoon - Wales v Australia. That fitted the bill for Archie and I on the sofa while JR went off into town.
Then imagine my surprise and delight to see that there are TWO more matches this evening, albeit Rugby League (which really is a faster game - none of those silly time consuming scrums). Actually, I didn't even know that Scotland had a League team.
I have noticed a slight improvement in the knee department again today. And I'm able to sleep pain-free at night, which of course helps enormously.
I got a Get Well card from Brian, Archie's wee schnauzer friend round the corner. How very sweet of him.
Archie has well and truly redeemed himself for his lacklustre welcome home - he has been so attentive, at my side all the time or preferably on my lap, or even better, on my chest when I'm lying down. He has a wee concerned look while I try to sit down or stand up and I let out involuntary little grunts and gasps.
JR is now back home with her purchase, has taken Archie round the block, and given me three choices for tea. With shrimp and pea purée crostini for starters. I'm spoilt. Which certainly aids recovery.
