It's Grim Up North

Was chatting to a man from the Czech republic, probably aged about 35, whilst we both waited for things to be done to our cars in the garage. He was really excited, he'd had to have the car fixed by the main dealer because it was a complicated problem. (I know, we have just traded in the same model in because of the repeating problem and suggested that he read up about it online.) He was delighted by how he was being treated and looked after.
We chatted about Brexit, of course. He's been here for 10 years and hope to stay. We discussed running a car on a budget, living on a budget. He was delighted by technology, by chatting to people and when his car was ready he shook the hand of the service manager and then shook my hand. He was a man enjoying his life. He was delightful.
Other conversations I had in the showroom: Bloke gets in and out of car, looks at me as says "This is too big for my wife." and walks away. Another chap sits down opposite me, I smile, he looks away.

We only need a few more Tory MPs to resign and then we can have an election....
