The Little Egret

Chrissy and I were supposed to be meeting Sue and Nicky at Winkworth Arboretum today, but as heavy rain was forecast we decided to cancel. So instead, Chrissy and I went to Cuckmere Haven and rather than autumn colours, we saw lots of wildlife, and managed a good walk before the rain hit us.  We saw Herons, Cormorants, Little Egrets and even an Oyster Catcher, but my choice today is this Little Egret who obviously had his eye on something under the surface of the water.

We went for a coffee and a hot chocolate in the local pub when we'd finished our walk and by the time we came out, it was pouring down so we'd timed it well!  

It's been a lovely day despite the weather and we even managed a food shop at Lidl on the way home - I love that shop!
