Friend or Food?

Today I had a lovely visit from Little J. and his girlfriend Miss L. I was working, so gave them a tour of the bear centre. The house three bears were really putting on a show, with lots of playing and wrestling going on! Then it was up to Tam Dao Village for lunch at the Mela Hotel, where we were joined by this sweet natured girl.

Sadly she had big saggy nipples indicating a litter of puppies were around somewhere. I always feel a little bit uneasy when I see breeding females as I start to wonder if they are somebodies pet dog or breeders for the dog meat trade. There is no dog meat offered at the Mela (or I definitely wouldn't be eating there) but she may not even belong to anybody working there. I wish we had an Animals Asia friend or food campaign here in Vietnam. One day soon I hope...
