I have been trying to economise, as I have no income and a large house to support!

So last night was the first time I'd put the heating on this autumn, just for a quick burst to take the chill off the house for an hour or so.

I made sure it was turned off before I went up to bed. So I was very surprised to come down to a ridiculously toasty house this morning! The radiators were too hot to touch and I couldn't turn them off.

To cut a long story short, the valve had seized, due to lack of use - so that was a  bit of a false economy!
