Drama at the sea - the 9th wave

Amazing to see all these fascinating and dramatic paintings taking us back to about 150 years. That was pretty much the only way to reproduce the strength, the beauty and the overwhelming power of nature over the humbleness of creatures like men at sea.  

After almost a month wait since booking the tickets we went to see the massive exhibition of Aivazovsky paintings in Tretiakov gallery.  I remember being a child and looking at these paintings with sheer disbelief - water like that could not have been painted, must be some trick... still amazed, although there has been a lot more healthy synicism/realism when I saw them today.  

Long weekend ! Hurray!!!!!
