Faffing
On the kitchen windowsill, again ....
I can’t think straight today after such sadness first thing this morning when good friend M rang to tell me that her very dear husband R drew his last breath at 4am – R has been battling with the hateful C disease since he was diagnosed only just a few weeks ago. Treatment and two unsuccessful operations later R has not been in a good place and at R’s request and with M’s bravery R spent his last days at home. It’s a sobering thought that three of my friends who we saw in May on our travels with Matilda, only one remains and she is on borrowed time as well, again battling with a very rare strain of this awful disease.
It’s not been a good day even though Rose and I took B (precious friend and old work colleague) out for lunch to celebrate her 70th Birthday. Lunch was great, friends are special but it’s still been a sad day. The sun didn’t come out either.
Off to two young friends' wedding in Wales tomorrow - life goes on.
