Migrating south

On my way south and so are the geese...I stopped by the side of the road to listen to the exitement. A seemingly endless stream of geese flying south and making patterns in the sky. And very noisy too! What are they chatting about? And how do they know when it is time? The date varies every year but it is a sure sign winter is on its way
