Complex Ofrenda

The women of our complex created our second annual ofrenda (what I have mistakenly called an alter in past posts) honoring those who are no longer with us. Part of the Día de los Muertos celebration in Mexico, this tradition of remembering those who have died by displaying their photographs and favorites foods is a terrific way to celebrate their lives. We gathered late this afternoon to eat, drink and tell stories of the loved ones featured in this display.
