Figgate Park

Think we might start a series of Blips called 'Edinburgh Parks'. Haven't a clue how many parks there are in Edinburgh but I'm sure if we goggle it we could find out. It was lovely in Figgate Park this afternoon. I got to do lots of splish, splash, sploshing in the stream (I mean burn – we must try and revert back to Scottish speak!) And I chased zillions of squirrels. Squirrels are very annoying little animals because every time I chase them they just run up a tree! Grrrrrrr................
Ann has been very busy over the last couple of days. Our Edinburgh flat has rented out really well over the last three months but now she's trying to turn it into a home for us and living and working somewhere is a lot different from decking it out as a holiday let?!!
Anyway, she's been to her induction course for 'Event Hospitality Team Member', ie, barmaid to me and you. Why is everyone a team member these days? She's also completed her two hours of mandatory training re Scottish licensing laws and passed the test though to be honest I don't think anyone fails it??!! And now she's got a few dates in her diary for when she will be working. Yipee! Working = money and money = treats for gorgeous little collies. And she can pick and choose what hours she works so she's only going to do short shifts because she has me to look after. And all the other people who were on the course were more than 30 years younger than her and were desperate to do as many hours as they could, so hopefully there will be lots of short shifts available.
This afternoon I went to Figgate Park for my walk because Ann has to supply her own uniform and needs a white shirt and a pair of flat black shoes. (Figgate Park is en-route to a lot of retail parks). She also needed to buy zillions more coat hangers. What rock & roll lives we lead? After Figgate Park we went to the 'Range' and I had to sit and wait while Ann bought coat hangers and a rather nice wine rack. Then we went to 'DFS' and I had to sit and wait while Ann looked at sofas. But she didn't like the sofas so no doubt that means she'll be having another trip to IKEA tomorrow for her free coffee and £1.50 breakfast??!! Then we went to 'Primark' when I had to sit and wait again.............. I've done a lot of sitting & waiting today. No suitable white blouses in Primark
but she did buy a pair of flat black leather sensible shoes for £5?! Bargain! The price tag said £18 even that would have been a bargain but the girl said they'd scanned at £5? Who are we to complain? Ann just needs to find a plain white blouse now. I bet that means I'm going to be left home alone again while she goes shopping.
….................And that's been our day.
Toodles.
