Sunset at Monnow Bridge
The afternoon sunshine offered a chance for two-wheeled loveliness and who was I to deny Morrigan a bit of fun... so today's photo comes mid-point in a short rumble around the Severn and the Forest of Dean, at Monmouth.
The Monnow Bridge and gatehouse remind me of Carcassonne in the south of France (except, without the basting temperatures!). Built in the C13th and C14th, they straddle the eponymous river, venerable and pedestrianised.
I'm holding a surgery this evening (just like a real politician!) in order that anyone in the village with questions about the Neighbourhood Plan Survey can come in and ask, and maybe even get answers.
I might also mention (casually, in passing, you understand) the upcoming Joint Spatial Plan and Joint Transport Plan consultations that commence next Monday. You know, the ones that propose thousands of new homes in our patch but almost entirely avoid addressing the local and overloaded road infrastructure? Yes, them plans.
