Little Magpie Big Magpie

We have watched the antics of a small flock of Magpies around 3 sometimes 4 of them, the adult seems to be encouraging the baby magpie to either forage for food on the ground or fly? or maybe both? one stand and pecks at the little one constantly until its little wings flutter and up in the air it goes, this continues again and again. Nature can be cruel sometimes.
The adult Magpies are renowned for swooping at this time of the year everyone is on their guard crossing the park as the magpies will come out of the trees and swoop down on any unsuspecting person walking by their nests above, their beaks are extremely sharp if they land on your head!.
