Joined at the Beak

At the metro park, I had the royal couple all to myself for about a half hour...well...almost to myself. Various photographers came and went, including one woman using a cell phone. (I thought she would wreck the mood by getting too close, but she didn't.)

The picture is a little deceiving. I had to kneel down to get rid of some road background, and I had to crop the shot to get rid of the picnic table. But, neither framing problem took away the pure bird joy of seeing the crane couple.

75F today, with plenty of sunshine. Unheard of for this time of year. I should have stayed home to do some outside chores, but I needed to play. I NEEDED TO PLAY!!!
