Musee Orsay
Today has been a truly wonderful experience. I woke up this morning to the great excitement of Dad announcing that we are off to Paris today. I couldn't believe it, I was so excited because I had never been and have always wanted to visit this incredibly city. So after leaving Ashford this morning and arriving at Calais we drove for about 3 hours before arriving a Paris.
The day consisted of being a major tourist with visiting the Musee Orsay to take in the culture and see some of Van Gogh's Poppy's. After about 2 hours of walking around this magnificent gallery which used to be an old train station with amazingly high ceilings and a huge clock right in the centre, we decided to walk through the Jardin Des Tuileries and on too the Louvre except I didn't want to ruin the surprise of seeing it because we are looking round the museum tomorrow so we diverted back to the hotel.
The weather has been glorious except a rather too hot but I shouldn't complain.
Tomorrow I am extremely excited because we are going to look around the Louvre in the morning and then to have lunch at the restaurant on the Eiffel Tower which is magnificent apparently with breath taking views. Après lunch we are taking a river boat up and down the Seine and will probably be so tired and full that we go back to the hotel and collapse.
